| Reasons ? Affordability….Lack of funds… Inability of the family heads (Marginal farmers, artisans, laborers, industrial workers etc) to withstand ever increasing livelihood expenses. |

| Upasana Charitable Trust (UCT), extends its helping hands to 40 such underprivileged but brilliant students coming from economically weaker section of the society, to fulfill their dream by providing facility of food, accommodation and other aids “Free of Charge” at Vadodara, in state of Gujarat. |

| Reason behind Formation of Upasana Charitable Trust |
| |
| Because we, the members of “Diamond Jubilee Alumni Association”, people who formed this UCT, have ourselves passed through such phase during our university education. It was “Sir Sayajirao Diamond Jubilee Memorial Trust, Vadodara, which provided such facility to us and many others during 1968 to 1985. Most of us are now enjoying very high social, economic and academic status and position in our respective fields. |

| Sense of gratitude towards the “Diamond Jubilee Trust” and the society, who made us “what we are today”, was always there at the back of our mind, which made us think that we must give back to the society, what it has given us, when we needed the most (Tera Tuzko Arpan). Our life is lightened by society, we must lighten some others’ lives (Jyot Se Jyot Jale). This idea led 200+ alumni members to unite and contribute fund for the noble cause of helping the needy students, by providing Free Food and Hostel Accommodation. |

Since 2008-09, 40 students are carving their future, while staying at, ”Meghmani Pariwar Diamond Boys’ Hostel” managed by UCT. Giving free accommodation and food is not the prime objective of the Trust. Our main motto is to run the hostel as “Character Building Center” for students and transform them into better citizens of the future. We believe in “Healthy Mind and Healthy Body”. We focus on all-round development of the students staying in the hostel. Our activities include

- Regular, daily morning and evening group prayers,
- Physical Exercise / Indoor & Outdoor Games
- Some good motivational and inspirational external readings
- Academic and Subject help from the senior inmates of hostel to juniors
- Guidance (weekly in prayer meeting) from some dignitaries of the society and industry, who are high achievers and experts in variety of their own field, which help and inspire students to achieve higher goals of life.

| Team of motivated and dedicated people run the hostel very economically while doing no compromise with standards of quality services. The approximate expenses per student is Rs 25,000/- per year. Hostel expenses are met through individual contributions from members of Diamond Jubilee Alumni Association and other friends and well-wishers of UCT, from industry and society. We are committed to take all measures which improve the quality of our services and help students to achieve their higher educational goals and transform them into noble citizens of tomorrow. |

| The Trust and Hostel is managed by dedicated group of highly qualified and experienced persons having sole motto of service to mankind without any monitory gain. We are proud to declare that we have seen very encouraging results of our efforts. All the pass-outs from our hostel are place in reputed industries with very good pay scale which remains a dream for many, and moreover all of them are now members of “Team Diamond”. |

| Your contribution for such a noble cause will be well appreciated. We assure you that each and every rupee that is donated to the trust will be utilized for the sole purpose of all round development of the students staying in the hostel. Donations made to UCT are exempted from Income Tax Act of India under section 80G |
