| The 'Upasana Charitable Trust' has been formed by the alumni of Sir 'Sayajirao Diamond Jubilee Boys Hostel', (one of the institutes supported by the Sir Sayajirao Diamond Jubilee Trust) where the alumni had stayed, from 1968.While cherishing the reminiscences of their stay in the hostel at Vadodara, where all the facilities including stay, food, college fees, books and even clothes were provided free of charge, the alumni evoked some serious thoughts. |

| “Where would have we been, if some one would not have given us support?” |
| “Do we ever feel grateful to those who made us capable of being so ‘High’ in the society?” |
| “Do we ever think of people whose talent just go buried because of not getting an opportunity?” |
| These thoughts were the genesis of UPASANA CHARITABLE TRUST. |

| Life’s most persistent question is “What are we doing for others?”. We the alumni, attribute the credit of our progress and success in our life to our stay in Diamond Jubilee Hostel, where our character was shaped along with our educational career. |

| When the determination is firm, mission is pious, cause is noble and activities are selfless, generous help and support started flowing from all corners. It was The M S University of Baroda, which came forward and allotted us two constructed quarters and open land of about 20,000 sq. ft. for hostel building, in the polytechnic campus. The Financial aid came from alumni of old Diamond Hostel and well wishers as well. And this is how the project of hostel building (ground floor + 1St floor) could be completed within a record time of nine months. |

The Hostel has become operational from academic year 2008-09. In all 28 students have started carving out their career in the hostel. We are committed to lay firm foundation of character in them. Our objective is to grow character in society where the prosperity of the nation lies.
